“Communication under debate”. The morning of last October 15th, organised by Meios & Publicidade, was promising. It was not only about the awards of the 3rd edition of the M&P Communication Awards, but also about the discussion, the conversation, the exchange of knowledge, experiences and points of view about our beloved area: communication.
We listened a lot, disagreed a little, challenged ourselves enough, laughed enough, joked moderately, but above all we learned a lot!
I have always found the healthy confrontation of ideas enriching. And in fact that was how it was that morning which, inevitably and predictably with a lot of politics in the mix, got us thinking about the current state and real role of communication agencies, the strategies to adopt in times of change, the undeniable importance of social networks, fee values, the profile of a communication professional, the union (or not) of the sector, financial communication and privatizations, digital communication metrics…
From there I gained knowledge, yes, but above all, I left with even more desire to make our work count – that of giving visibility and notoriety to a brand, entity or person – always looking at communication in an integrated way with the strategy of each client.
We live in times of change… of small revolutions here and there… what is current today is almost certain to be obsolete tomorrow… that’s why we have to be attentive and focus on our area, not only on Communication Day, but all the days.
Congratulations to the prize winners and to all those who, despite the many adversities, continue to believe in communication!
